Last night I was reading about not so confident BBW over at Fat Forums. I noticed that it seems that even years later we cannot change our perception about how Fat women are treated in society and that we are programmed that we are ugly and disgusting, etc… This is a very true statement. But what I notice because of that is that a lot of us (myself included) have kind of been defensive about the whole thing for so long. In other words, we have every right to not trust or understand why certain men like us.
I’ve set out to change this perception FOR MYSELF. I mean everyone else is entitled to live their lives and think for themselves however they see fit. Me on the other hand, I’m actively dating and there are all shapes and size men who have been attracted to me and I’m not going to let something like worrying about why a muscular or athletic man would want to date me. I will admit that for a minute there I was a little confused with some guys but then I stopped and told myself that I was being completely retarded about the whole thing and missing out on some really great experiences with some really hot looking men.
Not only could I potentially be missing out, but I wasn’t even allowing myself to accept the compliments they pay me because I didn’t trust them. That was in the long gone past. Now I know without a doubt, this stems from things that have happened early on in life but you have got to get over it. If you look at a lot of our thinner counterparts a lot of them feel they are entitled and deserving of the compliments they are paid and would never even second guess why someone would say they are beautiful, sexy etc… Even the not so pretty ones. So don’t ever talk someone out of paying you a compliment, you deserve it. Don’t let yourself keep playing the role of the victim all these years later in your life. If the guy didn’t like how you looked, HE WOULDN’T BE THERE!!!
